Job Summary:

We are looking for a Mechanical Shift Incharge to oversee and manage all mechanical maintenance activities during the assigned shift at the SID unit. The role includes ensuring equipment availability, smooth operations, timely troubleshooting, and leading the shift maintenance team to achieve production and safety targets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, allocate, and supervise mechanical maintenance activities during the shift.
• Ensure smooth operation of mechanical equipment (kiln, cooler, conveyors, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, fans, etc.).
• Attend to breakdowns quickly and coordinate with operations to minimize downtime.
• Implement preventive and predictive maintenance as per schedule.
• Monitor equipment health, lubrication systems, and spares availability.
• Maintain proper shift records, breakdown reports, and logbooks.
• Coordinate with electrical, instrumentation, and production teams for shift activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and statutory norms during shift operations.
• Guide and supervise fitters, technicians, and helpers during the shift.
• Report shift performance and handover to the next shift Incharge.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment in SID/Steel/DRI plant.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of preventive & predictive maintenance practices.
• Leadership, shift management, and manpower handling ability.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Safety-conscious approach.

Qualifications:

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance, with at least 2 years in a shift-incharge/supervisory role in a SID/DRI/Steel plant.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
