Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Role & responsibilities

1. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

• Plan and carry out preventive maintenance (PM) as per schedules for CNC machines, hydraulic presses, compressors, conveyors, and utilities.
  
• Implement predictive maintenance techniques such as vibration analysis, thermography, and oil condition monitoring.
  
• Maintain PM checklists, records, and ensure compliance with TPM and IATF 16949 standards.
  

2. Breakdown & Corrective Maintenance

• Respond promptly to mechanical breakdowns, diagnose issues, and carry out corrective repairs to minimize downtime.
  
• Perform

  root cause analysis (RCA)

  and implement

  corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

  for recurring problems.
• Coordinate with production and electrical maintenance teams to restore equipment operation efficiently.
  

3. Spare Parts & Inventory Management

• Identify critical spares and maintain optimum inventory levels.
  
• Coordinate with the purchase department for procurement of spares, consumables, and maintenance tools.
  

4. Equipment Installation & Commissioning

• Support installation, commissioning, and trial runs of new machinery and production lines.
  
• Verify equipment specifications, layout, and utility requirements.
  

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain equipment history records, breakdown reports, and maintenance performance metrics (MTBF, MTTR, downtime).
  
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports for management review.
  
• Support internal and external audits (ISO, IATF, TPM, customer).
  

6. Safety & Compliance

• Adhere to safety standards and implement

  LockoutTagout (LOTO)

  procedures during maintenance work.
• Ensure compliance with company safety, health, and environmental policies.
  
• Promote a culture of safe working and continuous improvement.
  

7. Continuous Improvement

• Participate in Kaizen, 5S, Lean, and energy-saving initiatives.
  
• Suggest process or design improvements to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
