Mechanical Engineer III

As a Mechanical Engineer at Applied Materials, you will be responsible for various key tasks and initiatives. Your main responsibilities will include: - Problem identification and troubleshooting a variety of difficult mechanical problems with limited supervision - Defining, coordinating, performing, and documenting engineering test reports with limited supervision - Developing, designing, or modifying mechanical engineering layouts/schematics and/or detailed drawings/specifications of difficult scope - Performing engineering analysis of difficult scope with limited supervision - Technically leading and/or executing engineering projects, including the development of key suppliers and generating mechanical product specifications - Potentially being responsible for the design, development, and implementation of custom mechanical tooling, fixturing, and associated processes to enable the handling, assembly, and/or disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies throughout the product life cycle. You will establish standards across all operational processes - Specifying and reviewing engineering documentation - Implementing concepts for a variety of complex product issues and mechanical solutions You are expected to demonstrate conceptual and practical expertise in your own discipline and have a basic knowledge of related disciplines. Additionally, you should have knowledge of best practices and understand how your area integrates with others. Furthermore, you will act as a resource for colleagues with less experience, potentially leading small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements. Your problem-solving skills will be crucial as you solve complex problems and take a new perspective on existing solutions based on the analysis of multiple sources of information. In terms of impact, you will influence a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within your own team and other related teams. You will work within broad guidelines and policies, utilizing your interpersonal skills to explain difficult or sensitive information and work towards building consensus. Please note that this is a full-time position at Applied Materials with the possibility of travel up to 10% of the time. Relocation is not eligible for this role.,
