Mechanical Engineer - Savli

Key Responsibilities

1. Maintenance & Repair

• Perform routine, preventive, and breakdown maintenance of compounding equipment.
• Ensure minimal downtime and efficient operation of machinery such as:
• Extruders
• Pelletizers
• Gravimetric Feeders
• Blowers
• Vacuum Pumps
• Conveyors

2. Installation & Assembly

• Assemble and install mechanical spares and machinery.
• Use measuring instruments (e.g., vernier calipers, torque wrenches) and power tools effectively.

3. Technical Interpretation

• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Determine material requirements and assembly sequences.

4. Troubleshooting

• Diagnose mechanical faults and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure optimal performance and reliability of equipment.

5. Safety & Compliance

• Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Follow industry standards and internal safety protocols.

6. Documentation & Systems

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
• Utilize SAP/Oracle systems for technical store and inventory management.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 & 14001 standards.

7. Continuous Improvement

• Apply soft skills and methodologies such as:
• 5S
• Kaizen
• Kanban
• RCA (Root Cause Analysis)

Performance Metrics (KRA/KPIs)

• Equipment Downtime
• Preventive Maintenance Effectiveness
• MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures)
• MTTR (Mean Time to Repair)
• Water Consumption Efficiency

Qualifications & Experience

• Education:

  Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

• Experience:

  Minimum 8 years in mechanical maintenance, preferably in polymer compounding extrusion

Required Exposure

• Polymer compounding extrusion maintenance
• Mechanical troubleshooting

Desired Exposure

• Extruders, feeders, RMC, utilities (compressors, chillers, cooling towers)
• Vacuum pumps, pelletizers
• SOPs, audits, substation management
• Energy conservation projects

Skills & Competencies

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance expertise
• Knowledge of:
• 5S, Y-Y Analysis
• Extruders, auxiliaries, utilities
