In this role, you will be responsible for various tasks to ensure the efficient and effective care of patients in the unit. Your key responsibilities will include: - Meeting patients and their families upon arrival to the unit - Informing the patient's condition to the consultant promptly - Assisting the consultant in the OPD - Conducting daily rounds with the Consultant - Taking patient history and performing examinations, ensuring appropriate presence if examining a female patient - Responding promptly to nurses" urgent requests for patient care - Being alert and responsive to Code Blue announcements - Demonstrating knowledge of Basic Life Support (BLS) - Preparing discharge summaries for patients under your care - Complying with all Hospital Policies and procedures - Participating in the Hospital's quality improvement plan - Engaging in clinical and non-clinical training programs organized by the Department and the Hospital - Displaying professional behavior with patients, colleagues, and other Hospital staff - Maintaining proper records of IPD patients, RBS reports, and informing the consultant - Sending appropriate referrals and communicating effectively with consultants - Ensuring completion of patient records at the time of discharge Additionally, you will be involved in specialized procedures such as: - Inserting peripheral intravenous catheters when required - Inserting invasive vascular access lines under supervision - Carrying out invasive diagnostic procedures as directed by the consultant - Taking appropriate blood samples when necessary Patient and Family Education will also be a part of your responsibilities, including: - Maintaining patient confidentiality - Providing patient and family education - Offering diagnosis-specific patient and family education Documentation is a crucial aspect of this role, and you will be expected to: - Document history & physical examination within 24 hours of admission - Write daily progress notes at least once every 24 hours - Write all orders clearly in the Physician Order Sheet after confirmation - Follow up on investigations and communicate results to the consultant Your participation in Continuous Quality Improvement is vital, involving: - Formulating Process Improvement programs and Quality Initiatives in the department - Performing any other assigned tasks as needed This is a Full-time position with benefits including paid sick time and paid time off.
