As a Weld Cell Engineer, you will be responsible for various aspects related to welding processes and operations. Your primary duties will include: - Demonstrating a strong understanding of weld drawings and weld symbols to ensure accurate interpretation in the welding process. - Conducting line balancing activities by analyzing cycle time, takt time, and lead time to optimize production efficiency. - Identifying areas for improvement and implementing ideas using methodologies such as Kaizen and poka-yoke to enhance overall operational effectiveness. - Possessing hands-on experience in both manual and robotic welding techniques, specifically GMAW MAG, and proficiency in programming Yaskawa Robots. - Providing training to operators and handling manpower effectively to ensure smooth workflow in the welding cell. - Managing robotic welding operations, including programming and teaching Yaskawa-Moto man robots. - Understanding productivity metrics and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) calculations to monitor machine efficiency. - Familiarity with Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Control plans, and New Product Development (NPD) processes. - Utilizing problem-solving tools such as the 7 Quality Control (7QC) tools to address welding-related issues. - Applying knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations and reduce waste in the welding cell. - Proficiency in using MS Office and SAP software for documentation and data management purposes. - Implementing the 5S methodology to maintain a clean and organized shop floor environment. - Willingness to work in shifts to support production schedules effectively.
