Roles and Responsibilities – Manual Welder (TIG)

1. TIG Welding Operations

• Perform high-quality TIG (GTAW) welding on stainless steel, mild steel, aluminium, and other metals as required.
• Set up welding equipment, tools, and materials according to job specifications.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.

2. Material Preparation

• Prepare and clean metal surfaces before welding (cutting, grinding, machining, or sanding).
• Ensure proper fit-up and alignment of components prior to welding.

3. Quality Control & Inspection

• Inspect welds visually and with measuring instruments to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Identify and correct welding defects such as porosity, cracks, and incomplete fusion.
• Maintain consistency in bead appearance and weld penetration.

4. Safety Compliance

• Follow workplace safety procedures, using PPE such as helmets, gloves, aprons, and eye protection.
• Maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment.
• Adhere to welding safety standards, including handling of gases and electrical equipment.

5. Equipment Handling & Maintenance

• Set up, operate, and maintain TIG welding machines and related tools.
• Perform routine checks and basic troubleshooting of welding equipment.
• Report equipment damage or malfunction to the supervisor immediately.

6. Documentation & Reporting

• Record daily welding activities, materials used, and job completion status.
• Follow WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) for all work tasks.
• Coordinate with supervisors, QC inspectors, and fabrication teams as required.

7. Collaboration & Work Efficiency

• Work closely with fabrication, machining, and assembly teams to complete projects on time.
• Ensure proper utilization of resources and minimize material wastage.
• Follow production schedules and meet daily/weekly targets.

8. Continuous Improvement

• Participate in training to upgrade welding skills and knowledge of new welding techniques.
• Suggest improvements in welding processes for better productivity and quality.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
