Manual Lathe Operator

As a Lathe Operator, your role involves setting up and operating manual or CNC lathes to produce machined parts. You will be responsible for reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints, selecting the appropriate tools, materials, and speeds for machining, and monitoring machine operations to ensure accuracy and quality. Additionally, you will be expected to perform routine maintenance on machines and tools, document production data, and collaborate with engineers and quality control teams. Troubleshooting and resolving machining issues as they arise will also be part of your responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: - Set up and operate manual or CNC lathes - Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints - Select appropriate tools, materials, and speeds for machining - Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as needed - Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality - Perform routine maintenance on machines and tools - Document production data and maintain records - Collaborate with engineers and quality control teams - Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area - Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues Qualifications Required: - High school diploma or equivalent - Proven experience as a lathe operator or machinist - Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints - Familiarity with precision measuring tools - Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail - Basic math and computer skills - Knowledge of machining principles and materials - Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for long periods - Good communication and teamwork skills - Willingness to work flexible hours or shifts if needed Please note that accommodation will not be provided, and immediate joiners are preferred.
