We are a distributed team across the US, UK, Bucharest, India, and Sri Lanka made up of a diverse range of people from varied backgrounds who each bring unique abilities and perspectives. The team is responsible for building a suite of observability tools and developing our self-healing capabilities while working closely with other members of the Global Network Services team to ensure our many network services remain highly available, resilient, and secure.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the India Network Telemetry, Observability and Automation, creating a high performing team
- Set the direction and strategy for your team and help shape the overall T&O program by driving the Automation to Codify, Automate, Test, Monitor, and Measure effectiveness of network Products and Services
- Provide leadership and direction to the Observability and Automation staff responsible for break-fix, uptime, and reliability for all network services
- Roadmap leveraging new technologies and innovation to deliver service globally
- Implement automation and orchestration for manual processes required to sustain and deploy services, and be at the heart of developing new ideas into internal Observability and Telemetry tools by working closely with other teams of Engineering Professionals
- Participate in deep technical design discussions within the team, and across partner teams, and ensure that we build suitable systems and keep the quality high
- Develop and maintain a catalogue of reliability scripts, tools and libraries that can be leveraged for common instrumentation, automation, and operational needs to identify and remediate network events.
- Provide next-level escalation support for production triage efforts.
- Manage a continuous improvement / continuous development (CI/CD) pipeline for development & testing.
- Automate the mundane and collaborate with others to design and implement tools for streamlining internal processes and automating end-to-end workflows within the network infrastructure
- and reduce operational overheads through observability and service automation.
- Estimate, refine and priories the team's work within an agile environment
- Work closely with business teams to ensure process and product needs and an appropriate technology strategy to support business goals
- Work with technical management to architect networks that effectively reflect business needs, service-level and availability requirements, and other technology parameters
- Participate in the documentation of application/network flows for various support needs
- Collaborate with the team to innovate and improve processes
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior members of the team
Candidate Profile / Key Skills:
- Experience in Observability tools such as Grafana, Influx, Cribl, Datadog, HPNA, etc
- Experience in Networking-related fields within a design, implementation, or operations role
- Expert in networking principles and network reliability and sustainment
- Experience with cloud technologies (Azure, AWS & GCP)
- Experience in software development supporting production networks
- Understanding of GIT workflows, continuous improvement / continuous development (CI/CD) concepts and how they can be applied to network automation and a testing framework
- Experience with automation/configuration management using either Terraform, Ansible, Puppet or Chef
- Relevant industry certifications in Network Technologies (Infoblox, Cisco, F5, Arista, etc)
- Experience with various network vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Arista, F5, Infoblox, etc.
- Deep understanding of the software delivery process with the ability to implement and enforce
- Experience working in an Agile Scum/Kanban model
- Experience with JIRA and Confluence
- Experience with Agile and Lean philosophies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with all levels of management
- The ability to provide leadership skills (self-starter / self-motivated)
