Job Description

Role Overview: You will be part of Mastercard Cross-Border Services Development Team, focusing on developing new or enhanced initiatives to create simpler and more secure ways to transact globally. As a Manager Software Engineer, you will lead a team of IT Professionals in delivering high-quality software solutions using agile methodology. Your role involves providing technical leadership, collaborating with business stakeholders, and ensuring successful project delivery. Key Responsibilities: - Provide technical leadership and direction to software development teams. - Lead major cross-department initiatives with long-term business implications. - Partner with business to identify innovative solutions and drive strategic decisions. - Work closely with product and architecture teams on product definition and technical design. - Develop and deliver solutions as part of a scrum team, including design documents and proof of concepts. - Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to coding principles. - Research and evaluate current and upcoming technologies and frameworks. - Participate in Proof of Concepts (PoCs) for selecting Vendor Solutions, Technologies, and Methodologies. - Ensure projects are adequately staffed, trained, and managed within approved manpower and budget. Qualifications Required: - High-energy, detail-oriented, and proactive individual with the ability to work independently under pressure. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. - Experience in tech leadership with development teams. - Expertise in performing code reviews, creating system design, and mentoring junior developers. - Extensive experience in designing and developing consumer-facing products. - Proficiency in Java, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, Web Services, Microservices, and Oracle SQL development. - Hands-on experience in UNIX and knowledge of cloud native development (e.g., pivotal cloud foundry, AWS). - Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies. - Strong verbal and written communication skills for coaching and project planning.
