Description
As a Manager, R&D Project and Program Management at our organization, your role will involve managing people for product development programs or projects with a focus on delivering products or computer-based systems. You will be responsible for planning and directing resource schedules, project budgets, and monitoring the product/program/project from initiation to delivery. Additionally, you will interface with customers on technical matters, organize interdepartmental activities, and ensure completion of projects on schedule and within budget constraints. Your duties will include assigning and monitoring work, providing technical support and direction, as well as selecting, developing, and evaluating personnel to ensure efficient operation of the function. Key Responsibilities: - Manage a group of senior project and program managers supporting various products and solutions in Pune center. - Implement global R&D specific programs with local leadership to ensure adherence to set standards and expectations. - Contribute to global project management community and lead initiatives within R&D when opportunities arise. - Collaborate with R&D Platform engineering and Global Solutions R&D program managers to ensure local teams meet horizontal project requirements. - Provide timely reporting for insights, escalations, risk handling activities, and broader scale decision-making. - Develop, organize, prioritize, and assign objectives and responsibilities consistent with department, division, and corporate goals. - Communicate departmental interests to staff, other departments, divisions, and management levels as needed. - Advocate for adoption of best practices and continuous improvement throughout the software lifecycle. - Provide technical leadership for projects, train and direct project staff, and encourage professional growth and teamwork. - Perform quarterly and annual bonus and performance reviews, as well as interviewing and hiring new employees. - Manage teamwork, performance management, feedback, and professional growth in collaboration with SAS human resources, SAS education, and executive leadership. Qualifications: - Technical competence in programming languages, operating systems, utilities, editors, and services for the assigned functional area. - Excellent oral and written communication skills. - Strong organizational and leadership abilities. - Ability to develop creative solutions to complex technical problems. - Strong decision-making ability. Education: Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, preferably in Computer Science or a related discipline. Experience: Minimum of twelve years of technical experience in the assigned area, with five years of experience in a leadership role including two years of formal supervisory or management experience.,
