Manager, Product Software Engineering - Java Full stack

This position is seeking a passionate and technology-driven individual to manage product delivery of Wolters Kluwer Passport enterprise legal management SaaS product. You will be expected to challenge the status quo, drive innovation, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams. Strong technical skills in software development and a track record of delivering products to the market are essential for this role. Your daily responsibilities will involve working across multiple work streams, overseeing the performance of team leads and developers, and ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery. Additionally, you will play a key role in planning and estimating work, understanding project requirements, and crafting technical solutions to deliver desired functionality. Reporting directly to the Director of Product Software Engineering for Passport, this role is vital for the continued growth of the product and business unit within Wolters Kluwer. Your responsibilities will include: - Prioritizing customer experience and continual delivery of value - Leading effectively to build trust, empower team members, and foster a learning culture - Promoting a DevOps culture for efficient and automated software development and deployment - Managing a team of 5-10+ engineers to deliver products on time with superior quality - Staying updated on industry best practices and relevant technologies - Monitoring software engineering trends and development tools to influence solutions for Passport - Participating in code reviews, setting coding standards, and troubleshooting across different teams - Collaborating with cross-functional leads and stakeholders to design and develop modifications and enhancements to Passport - Coordinating with Product Management in various development areas including planning, estimation, risk mitigation, and support - Conducting performance appraisals and providing coaching to direct reports - Producing high-quality software and contributing to continuous improvement for higher efficiency - Mentoring technical managers and engineers through formal and informal channels - Managing operational and employee-related escalations effectively Requirements: - Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent; Master's degree preferred - Experience: 10 years overall with a minimum of 7 years in Java front-end technologies such as React/Angular, and at least 3 years managing small to medium-sized teams - Web development experience with client-side scripting languages - Proficiency in using GIT-based source control systems and building Azure native applications - Strong problem-solving skills and mature judgment - Strategic thinking ability to create executable strategies and drive project execution - Experience in researching new technologies for potential value and business fit - Comfortable managing multiple complex project deliveries in a fast-paced environment Applicants may need to visit a Wolters Kluwer office as part of the recruitment process.,
