Job Description

As a Scrum Leader at MetLife, you will be a servant leader and coach for an agile team, facilitating team events and processes to enable Software Development and/or Technology Value Streams. You will support teams and ARTs in delivering value and educate the team in Scrum, Builtin-Quality, Kanban, and SAFe. Your role involves building awareness around practices, enabling greater agility, and possessing the soft skills needed to coach and mentor team members and others in the organization. Key Responsibilities: - Lead up to 1 onshore or 1 off-shore scrum team in basic to regular complexity business domain. - Understand and explain the underlying meaning and value of learned concepts to others. - Apply acquired competency knowledge to implement solutions in new situations. - Facilitate and support all Scrum and/or Team Kanban participation in release planning activities and events. - Coordinate with other teams and stakeholders on value-driven outcomes, risks, and dependencies. - Collaborate with the PO to gain further understanding and clarity of the backlog items. - Guide and coach the Scrum/Kanban team on using agile principles and practices to deliver high-quality outcomes. - Facilitate and support all Scrum and/or Team Kanban events. - Resolve team impediments with other Scrum/Team Leads to increase agility effectiveness. - Establish the team Kanban board for visibility to enhance flow. - Act as a servant leader who coaches and supports agile teams. - Ensure agility is understood and the team adheres to agile principles, practices, and guidelines. - Provide guidance on improving team dynamics and performance. - Coach teams in self-organization, cross-functional skill sets, domain knowledge, and effective communication. - Foster collaboration within the team. - Work with internal and external stakeholders to influence decision-making and support organizational goals. - Collaborate with agile coaches and other Scrum Leaders to grow within the role. - Contribute to advancing and improving agile practices within the organization. Education: - Bachelor's degree (Any Stream) or diploma with a minimum of 15 years of education.
