Manager - PQ System Design

Role Overview: You will be responsible for leading and developing a high-performing system design team at Hitachi Energy Technology Services Private Limited in Chennai. Key Responsibilities: - Develop team competency in technical areas and essential business skills - Enhance process-driven culture and ensure adherence to established processes - Establish highest quality benchmarks for system design deliverables - Expand execution capability across multiple technologies - Plan resources for Tenders/ Projects/Development activities - Collaborate with cross-functional departments like Project Management, Product Management, and R&D - Conduct performance evaluations, feedback sessions, and growth discussions with team members - Handle administrative and data reporting assignments as required - Promote continuous improvement mindset within the system design team - Monitor quality and cost performance indicators, taking corrective and preventive measures - Lead recruitment and competence development efforts for the team - Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines Qualifications Required: - Masters in electrical engineering with power system focus - 2-3 years of experience in a managerial role - Experience leading a team of more than 8 engineers - Proven track record in guiding engineering teams on high-value electrical infrastructure projects - Excellent knowledge of electrical power systems fundamentals - Good understanding of VSC based solutions for electrical power grid design - Knowledge of design and testing of electrical components like transformers, reactors, capacitors, CT, VT, HV breakers, etc. - Ability to develop a vision and strategize execution for an engineering team - Clarity on fundamentals of Project Management and Product Management/Finance - Proficiency in both spoken and written English language (Note: The additional details of the company were not specified in the provided Job Description),
