Description
You will be joining Albertsons Companies as a Manager Engineering, based in Bangalore. As a key member of the team, you will lead core technology functions to ensure the performance, reliability, and quality of the grocery retail platform. Your role will involve managing cross-functional teams across various engineering domains to support both digital and in-store operations. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Engineering Operations Leadership:** - Build and lead teams across DevOps, SRE, QE, Performance, Release, and DB Engineering. - Develop and execute engineering operations strategy tailored to retail systems (Fulfillment). - Partner with product, infrastructure, and application engineering teams for aligned execution. - **DevOps & SRE:** - Oversee CI/CD systems and infrastructure-as-code practices across Azure and GCP. - Implement observability, monitoring, and incident response frameworks to ensure uptime and resiliency. - Drive cost-effective, scalable infrastructure for both store and digital systems. - **Quality & Test Engineering:** - Lead test automation strategy covering functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing. - Embed quality assurance best practices into the software development lifecycle. - **Performance Engineering:** - Manage performance benchmarking and tuning of mission-critical systems such as checkout, inventory, and order tracking. - Optimize performance across public cloud environments to handle traffic spikes and peak loads. - **Release Engineering:** - Drive automated, secure, and reliable release pipelines for web, mobile, and backend systems. - Ensure seamless, low-risk deployments through mature release governance processes. - **Database Engineering:** - Oversee high-availability, scalable, and secure database operations. - Manage data platform reliability across solutions such as Azure SQL, Cloud SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and NoSQL stores. **Required Qualifications:** - 8+ years of experience in engineering, with 3+ years in a leadership / managerial role. - Expertise in DevOps and SRE practices, including experience with Azure, GCP or AWS. - Hands-on with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Helm), monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK), and automation frameworks. - Strong background in test automation, release management, and database optimization. **Preferred Qualifications:** - Experience in retail, e-commerce, or logistics technology. - Familiarity with systems like OMS, ERP, and warehouse management. - Understanding of compliance frameworks (PCI DSS, ISO 27001, SOC 2).
