Job Description

Role Overview: You will be responsible for developing, driving, and owning the global category sourcing strategy and savings objectives for specific eMechanical components at HARMAN Automotive. Your role will involve overseeing, developing, and optimizing the entire electronics portfolio with a focus on local suppliers in India. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and drive the global category strategy in alignment with business objectives to support growth and profitability. - Build and maintain strong relationships with the category supply base and act as the unified interface for HARMAN International. - Collaborate with Best Cost Analytics & HW & Component Engineering on technology roadmap plans to ensure competitive cost of components. - Conduct effective supplier negotiations and drive cost reductions to meet annual goals. - Manage commercial terms and conditions, including long-term capacity commitments from suppliers. - Optimize the supply base and develop new suppliers to maximize category leverage, with a special focus on India. - Lead the source board preparation and create sourcing proposals for management decisions. - Oversee RFx efforts, evaluate responses, and make sourcing decisions. - Coordinate supplier performance management, including quarterly business reviews and escalation support. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. - 9-12 years of experience in managing global supply base activities, including contracts, pricing, supply assurance, cost reduction initiatives, and conflict resolution. - Proficiency in English communication, both written and verbal. - Knowledge of technology and product roadmaps, expertise in eMechanical components procurement, manufacturing cost structure, analytical skills, and strategic communication abilities. Additional Details: Successful completion of a background investigation and occupational health screening, including a drug screen, is required as a condition of employment. You should be willing to work in EU and US time zones and meet stringent timelines.
