Manager, Deterministic Quantitative Modeling Assurance

Role Overview: As a Manager, Deterministic Quantitative Modeling Assurance at HSBC, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of Deterministic Quantitative Models (DQMs) within the organization. Your main responsibilities will involve: Key Responsibilities: - Undertaking detailed reviews of DQMs to confirm their suitability and operational efficiency. This will entail testing numerical implementations, evaluating inputs and outputs, and ensuring the relevance and completeness of data and documentation. - Conducting necessary control testing and preparing comprehensive written reports outlining review findings, including documenting identified issues and examining remediation plans. - Identifying areas for control enhancements and proposing recommendations for improvements in Policy and Procedure frameworks. - Upholding HSBC's adherence to regulatory requirements and aiding in issue resolution when necessary. - Contributing to bolstering management, regulatory, and external confidence in all DQMs utilized across the group. Qualifications Required: - Prior experience in assurance, audit, finance, or model risk management within financial services or other significant industries. - Proficiency in model/DQM/EUC validation, verification, and development. - Previous exposure to developing assurance automation and analytics tools is advantageous. - Exceptional English written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to articulate complex subjects clearly and succinctly. - Keen attention to detail. - Proficiency in software programming languages like VBA and Python. - Competency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. - Exposure to creating quantitative tools, including End User Computing (EUCs), would be a plus. - Team-oriented mindset with the capability to work autonomously to deliver high-quality work. - Aptitude for comprehending intricate calculator-type tools and providing oversight and guidance.
