Job Description

Role Overview: As a Manager, BizOps at Mastercard, you will be part of the BizOps team responsible for leading the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) transformation. You will play a crucial role in solving problems, implementing automation, and driving best practices within the organization. Your focus will be on ensuring operational criteria like system availability, capacity, performance, monitoring, self-healing, and deployment automation are met throughout the delivery process. You will work closely with developers, operations, and product teams to prioritize needs and build strong relationships to support the platform's production readiness. Key Responsibilities: - Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services from inception and design to deployment, operation, and refinement. - Analyze ITSM activities of the platform and provide feedback loop to development teams on operational gaps or resiliency concerns. - Support services before they go live by offering system design consulting, capacity planning, and launch reviews. - Maintain services post-launch by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health. - Scale systems sustainably through automation and advocate for changes that enhance reliability and velocity. - Practice sustainable incident response and conduct blameless postmortems. - Take a holistic approach to problem-solving during production events and optimize mean time to recover. - Collaborate with a global team across various tech hubs and time zones. - Share knowledge and mentor junior resources. Qualifications: - BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding, or equivalent practical experience. - Experience in a financial environment is preferred. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and planning skills. - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. - Demonstrated ability to organize, multi-task, and prioritize work effectively. - Strong relationship-building, collaborative, and customer service skills. - 5-7 years of experience in UNIX, scripting, Oracle, and SQL skills. - Ability to work with little or no supervision. - Experience in C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl, or Ruby is preferred. - Interest in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems. - Willingness to push boundaries of automation and work across development, operations, and product teams. - Minor travel may be required.
