Maintenance Fitter

Mechanical Maintenance & Repairs

• Install, assemble, dismantle, and maintain machinery such as tea blending machines, conveyors, elevators, sifters, boilers, compressors, packing machines, and material handling equipment.
• Attend breakdowns and carry out corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance as per schedule.
• Align motors, gearboxes, pumps, shafts, and belts.

Fabrication & Fitting Work

• Carry out fitting, welding (if applicable), cutting, drilling, and grinding work.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
• Replace worn-out or defective parts and ensure proper fitment.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow factory safety rules, GMP, food safety, and hygiene standards applicable to FMCG tea plants.
• Use PPE and ensure safe handling of tools and equipment.
• Support statutory inspections (Factory Inspector, Boiler Inspector, etc.) when required.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain maintenance logs, breakdown reports, and spare parts usage records.
• Inform supervisor about recurring faults and improvement suggestions.

Coordination

• Coordinate with production, quality, and utility teams during maintenance activities.
• Assist during machine installation, commissioning, and trial runs.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of mechanical fitting and maintenance.
• Basic understanding of tea processing and packing machinery (preferred).
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues quickly.
• Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
• Teamwork, discipline, and problem-solving skills.

Qualification & Experience

• ITI Fitter (Mandatory).
• Experience: 2–5 years in the FMCG / food/tea manufacturing industry preferred.
• Fresh ITI candidates may be considered as trainees.

Working Conditions

• Factory floor environment.
• Shift duties as per production requirements.
• May require overtime during breakdowns or peak production periods.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
