Maintenance Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and carry out preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of mechanical equipment and electrical machinery used in R&D Labs

Monitor, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair utilities and infrastructure including: • Pumps, compressors, chillers. • Auxiliaries, piping, valves, motors, agitators, reactors and related mechanical utilities

Regular inspections / checks: vibration, lubrication, alignment, wear & tear, etc., to identify potential failure before breakdown.

Maintain documentation: maintenance logs, equipment history, spare parts usage, performance metrics, downtime records.

Work with R&D / process / QA teams to coordinate maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maintain compliance (GMP / safety / environmental).

Vendor management: for specialized, outsourced maintenance, spare parts, and services.

Good troubleshooting skills (mechanical, electrical sometimes instrumentation)

Understanding of fluid systems, pumps, motors, piping, valves, etc.

Ability to read mechanical drawings / P&IDs / equipment manuals.

Planning and scheduling preventive maintenance.

Good communication and coordination-skills with multiple departments.

Analytical mindset; ability to monitor KPIs, identify failure trends.

Basic computer skills / familiarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS) or at least ability to maintain records digitally.
