Job Description

You will be responsible for the following tasks: - Perform data management tasks as required, such as loading/unloading, updating, restoring, and removing data to ensure database accuracy as a data source. - Monitor and manage space by purging obsolete data and reclaiming space. - Identify and troubleshoot high-priority database issues. - Monitor database backups and maintenance jobs, troubleshoot job failures, and collaborate with Operations when necessary. - Monitor databases for unusual activities and restrictive states, checking logs periodically for any issues. - Refresh Dev/Test databases with prod backup images upon request. - Work in a collaborative multi-client environment. - Have knowledge of Cobol Programming. - Be familiar with Database Third party Software tools such as Omegamon, Tmon, BMC Suite, and CA DB2 Toolset (preferred). - Provide off-hours support as required. - Participate in Oncall Schedule. You should have experience with the following: - Backup and recovery processes and tools. - Database knowledge, including logical and physical design. - Troubleshooting database performance issues and query tuning concepts. - Performing Database Maintenance activities like Adhoc Reorgs and Runstats on demand. - Platforms: z/os DB2, IMS. Additionally, you may have experience with the following bonus platforms: IDMS, Adabase, Supra, System 2000, and Datacom.,
