Job Description

As a Database Administrator, your role will involve managing backup and recovery processes and tools. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the database as a data source by performing tasks such as loading, unloading, updating, restoring, and removing data. Monitoring and managing space, as well as identifying and troubleshooting database issues with high priority, will also be part of your responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: - Perform data management tasks to maintain the accuracy of the database - Monitor and manage space by purging obsolete data and reclaiming space - Troubleshoot database performance issues and optimize query tuning concepts - Monitor database backups and maintenance jobs, troubleshoot failures, and collaborate with Operations - Identify and troubleshoot databases issues with high priority - Refresh Dev/Test databases with production backup images - Work in a collaborative multi-client environment - Participate in an on-call schedule for off-hours support Qualifications Required: - Knowledge of database logical and physical design - Experience in troubleshooting database performance issues - Familiarity with Cobol Programming - Knowledge of Database Third party Software tools like Omegamon, Tmon, BMC Suite, CA DB2 Toolset is a plus In addition to your core responsibilities, you may also be required to provide off-hours support and participate in the on-call schedule. The platforms you will primarily work with include z/os DB2 and IMS, with bonus platforms including IDMS, Adabase, Supra, System 2000, and Datacom.
