Scope & Impact

Own stable modules; improve performance and reliability.

Core Responsibilities

Develop COBOL (batch/CICS); design JCL/PROCs and scheduling artifacts.
Write performant Db2 SQL; support release processes and incident fixes.

Must-have Skills

COBOL, JCL, Db2 SQL, VSAM; tools (Endevor/File-Aid/Expeditor/Abend-AID).
Scheduler knowledge (CA7/Control-M); code reviews; Agile delivery.

Nice-to-have

IMS basics; MQ/REST interfaces; Zowe CLI exposure.

Common Stack & Tools

Core: z/OS, COBOL, JCL, Db2 12/IMS, VSAM, CICS TS
Tooling: Endevor/ChangeMan, File-Aid, Expeditor, Abend-AID, SPUFI/QMF, SDSF
Scheduling: CA7/Control-M/TWS; MQ integrations
Modernization: API enablement (z/OS Connect EE), JSON/REST services, event-driven interfaces
DevOps: Zowe CLI, Git on z/OS, CI/CD quality gates; basic observability and performance tuning
