P1 C3 TSTS Position Support/QA Engineer (Mainframe) (QA Support/Level 4) Job Overview Margin team looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Mainframe and Support Engineer to join our IT Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting business-critical mainframe applications, ensuring system availability, resolving incidents, and performing root cause analysis. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to monitor, maintain, and support batch jobs, databases, and production systems. Key Responsibilities Provide day-to-day support for mainframe non-production environments Monitor and troubleshoot batch jobs using tools like JCL, Control-M, or CA-7 Analyze and resolve application/system errors, abends, and performance issues Perform incident and problem management, ensuring timely resolution and documentation Use COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and DB2 to investigate and resolve production issues code deployments, system upgrades, and change management activities Support code deployments, system upgrades, and change management activities Work closely with development, QA, and infrastructure teams for coordinated supportCreate and maintain support documentation, runbooks, and operational proceduresParticipate in on-call support rotation and provide off-hours support when necessary Skills Required 4+ years of Experience as in Mainframe technologies like COBOL, DB2, JCL etc Expertise in Production Support for Mainframe Batch Environment Expertise in quickly resolving batch failures, environmental issues Experience with JCL/COBOL/VSAM and should be able write simple programs/JCL as need Experience with Scheduler - tws/control-m, SyncSort Familiarity with SPLUNK Reporting, IBM Tivoli Output Management, File Manager Good to have - Experience in Distributed batch environment , familiarity with Unix/Putty, Shell/Python Scripts, autosys, SQL etc Excellent interpersonal skills and professional approach Should be flexible to login early , on-demand and on weekend as per need of the system supported Willing to learn and adopt to distributed technologies as well Mainframe Prod Support About Virtusa Teamwork, quality of life, professional and personal development: values that Virtusa is proud to embody.
