Getting competitive quote and finalize commercials in line with the business requirements in consultation with senior management team. Planning and scheduling on various sub contractors to meet the Business / Customer targets. Work with inhouse machining team to balance loads and capacity to ensure proper utilization of inhouse machines. Should be capable of handling smaller volumes and huge variety of part nos and should be based out of Coimbatore, with clear knowledge and contacts of subcontract base in and around Coimbatore Responsible for maintaining lower PPM at subcontract end machining and give timely feedback to foundry to reduce casting related rejections after machining. Responsible for timely delivery of machined parts to meet customer requirements. To work on reducing lead time reduction continuously to meet increased demand. Responsible for periodical rating of vendors and work on improving them to reach the desired levels, both in terms of delivery and Quality Should be technically capable of resolving machining related issues at Subcontractor end and hence should have hands on experience in proving in machines and Cutting tool management. Responsible to improve the PPM levels at subcontractor end and effectively resolve any customer complaints arising from subcontract parts. Role & responsibilities Skills Required : Drive supplier selection through robust qualification processes Assess new and existing supplier capabilities to meet product, cost, quality, capacity and fulfillment ensuring suppliers are able to meet requirements for performance, quality, cost and delivery of components and requirements for TS 16949, ISO 14001 and other applicable customer and internal system and reputation requirements. Based on screening, prioritise preferred suppliers Drive improvements utilizing Lean methodologies, supplier scorecards and own supplier audit, ensuring supplier compliance, whilst driving systematic problem solving and process improvement plans to deliver value. Track the suppliers performance indicators, based on their scorecards and rankings, to facilitate and develop the supply bases ability to consistently meet or exceed defined expectations. Provide technical expertise and leadership to sourcing and development of suppliers with respect to technology, performance, quality, cost, logistics and delivery. Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements. Job Title: Section Head Sinto Moulding Line (TPM Concept) Department: Foundry / Production Reports To: Foundry Manager / Plant Head Location: Coimbatore Job Purpose: To lead and manage the Sinto Moulding Line operations, ensuring optimal productivity, quality, safety, and implementation of TPM methodologies for continuous improvement and equipment efficiency. Key Responsibilities: 1. Production Management Lead daily operations of the Sinto moulding line to meet production targets. Monitor cycle times, production efficiency, and material usage. Ensure timely availability of raw materials, patterns, and consumables. 2. TPM Implementation Drive TPM pillars (especially Autonomous Maintenance, Planned Maintenance, Quality Maintenance, and Focused Improvement) on the moulding line. Implement and monitor OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness). Conduct daily Gemba walks and Kaizen activities to identify and eliminate waste. 3. Team Leadership Supervise and train shift supervisors, operators, and technicians. Conduct skill matrix evaluations and organize training for skill enhancement. Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. 4. Quality Assurance Coordinate with the QA team to ensure product quality meets internal and customer specifications. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for defects. Monitor rework and rejection rates, implementing actions for reduction. 5. Maintenance Coordination Plan and coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance. Support 5S and visual management in the moulding area. 6. Safety & Compliance Ensure strict adherence to EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) standards. Conduct regular safety audits and promote a zero-incident culture. 7. Reporting & Analysis Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production and downtime reports. Analyse downtime, quality loss, and suggest improvement measures. Qualifications: Education : Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Metallurgy / Production Engineering. Experience : 610 years of experience in a foundry, preferably in a Sinto moulding line; minimum 2 years in a leadership role. Certifications : TPM/Lean Manufacturing certification is an advantage. Key Skills: In-depth knowledge of Sinto moulding technology and sand systems. Strong understanding of TPM principles. Leadership, team management, and conflict resolution. Problem-solving with exposure to root cause tools like 5 Whys, Fishbone, etc. Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems.
