Job Description

Job Title: Underwriter

Location:

Key Responsibilities:

Review and assess mortgage loan applications for completeness and accuracy
Conduct
pre-underwriting
,
live underwriting
, and credit risk evaluation
Analyze applicants financial documents, credit reports, and income statements
Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, company policies, and regulations
Evaluate loan risk based on the
4 Cs: Capacity, Credit, Cash, and Collateral
Communicate effectively with internal teams to resolve missing or unclear information
Make sound and timely underwriting decisions based on risk factors
Maintain records of all decisions and ensure documentation is complete

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Minimum 3
year of experience
in Loan Origination and Underwriting
Proficient in
Pre-Underwriting, Underwriting, or Live Underwriting
In-depth knowledge of
Capacity, Credit, Cash, and Collateral (4 Cs)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Familiarity with US mortgage guidelines and lending practices is preferred
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and handle pressure in a fast-paced environment
