Job Summary:

The Senior Linux & Storage Administrator will be responsible for managing and supporting Linux-based environments along with the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Ceph/PetaSAN storage clusters. The role requires strong technical expertise in Linux system administration, virtualization (preferably KVM), and enterprise storage solutions with Ceph or PetaSAN. The candidate should have hands-on experience in cluster configuration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and data availability management within data center environments.

  Linux Administration (RedHat, SUSE, Open Source Linux)

• Expertise in 

  Ceph/PetaSAN storage architecture, deployment, and management

• Good understanding of 

  Ceph internals (RADOS, CRUSH maps, RGW, RBD, CephFS)

• Proficiency in 

  Shell/Python scripting

   for automation
• Hands-on experience with 

  KVM Hypervisor

Roles & Responsibilities:

Linux Administration:

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux OS (RedHat/SUSE/Open Source Linux) and KVM hypervisor.
• Perform OS hardening, patch management, and bug fix implementation.
• Manage user accounts, access rights, sudo configurations, and password policies.
• Perform logical volume management (LVM), file system administration, and backup configuration.
• Monitor and optimize system resources (CPU, disk, network utilization).
• Perform disk partitioning, volume group management, and hardware driver installations.
• Handle server reinstallation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Manage VAPT closure, monitoring agents, and datacenter infrastructure.
• Coordinate with vendors and support teams for hardware and system issues.
• Lead and mentor the Linux operations team in day-to-day activities.

Storage Administration (Ceph/PetaSAN):

• Plan, deploy, and configure Ceph/PetaSAN clusters for large-scale storage environments.
• Implement Ceph services for RBD (block), CephFS (file), and RGW (object) storage access.
• Monitor and manage Ceph clusters for optimal performance, scalability, and security.
• Perform upgrades, rebalancing, and capacity expansion with minimal downtime.
• Configure replication, erasure coding, and recovery mechanisms for data availability.
• Assess and implement best practices for data security and compliance.
• Manage cluster dashboards, alerts, and logs for proactive maintenance.
• Implement and test backup, recovery, and replication strategies across multiple sites.
• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to integrate storage solutions.
