Linux Automation Lead Ansible, Bash / Python

As an On-Call Engineer at UST, you will be responsible for maintaining the availability of infrastructure by handling critical incidents, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring seamless operations around the clock. Your expertise in Linux systems administration, along with proficiency in Bash and Python scripting, will play a crucial role in managing root-level directory structures and automating operational tasks. You should be well-versed in basic networking protocols and possess the ability to swiftly respond to incidents even during after-hours and weekends. Your role will also involve producing clear and concise documentation in English for knowledge transfer and operational transparency. Effective communication and collaboration with technical teams and stakeholders are essential aspects of this position. You will be expected to adhere to security best practices while handling root access and demonstrate a proactive approach to incident management. Preferred skills for this role include familiarity with database setup and maintenance (MySQL and PostgreSQL), experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, and exposure to collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket. Additionally, knowledge of monitoring systems and CI/CD pipelines, as well as container orchestration platforms, will be beneficial. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or possess equivalent practical experience. A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration, with a proven track record of making quick decisions during high-pressure situations, is required. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional experts are key attributes for success in this role.
