Lane In-Charge / Workshop Supervisor

Job Summary

The Lane In-Charge / Workshop Supervisor oversees day-to-day workshop/ service-lane operations, supervises technicians/mechanics, ensures service quality and timely delivery, coordinates with customers, and maintains workshop standards.

Key Responsibilities
Supervise and assign work to mechanics, technicians, and other workshop staff.

Ensure all repairs, maintenance and servicing tasks are done correctly, safely, and meet company / OEM / industry standards

Diagnose and evaluate vehicle / equipment issues (mechanical and/or electrical, as applicable). Provide guidance to mechanics on complex repairs.

Coordinate workflow — plan jobs, schedule tasks, allocate manpower and resources/parts/tools to meet daily/weekly targets.

Qualification & Required Skills

• Diploma in Motor Mechanics / Mechanical / Automobile Engineering or Electrical (as applicable). Relevant vocational/technical qualification acceptable.
• At least ~3 years of hands-on experience in automotive/mechanical repair and maintenance; with experience supervising a workshop or team preferred.
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems (depending on the workshop type), diagnostic & repair skills.
• Good leadership and team-management skills; ability to assign tasks, supervise work, and mentor junior staff.

Desirable / Additional Qualities

• Prior supervisory or team-lead experience in an automotive workshop.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple work orders.
• Customer-centric attitude and problem-solving mindset.
• Basic computer skills (for record-keeping, job cards, parts inventory).
• Valid driving licence (if test-drive, inspection or delivery is involved).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
