Lighting Artist

As a Lighter at Scanline VFX, you will play a crucial role in the lighting and rendering of elements necessary to achieve high-end photorealistic live action CG characters and environments. Your responsibilities will include creating and designing lighting for complex scenes, collaborating with various upstream departments such as Layout, Animation, and FX, and working closely with Lighting Leads and Compositors to ensure all elements contribute to the desired look. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Digital Arts or possess equivalent experience. Additionally, you must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in visual effects for feature films. Proficiency with 3ds Max and VRay or Houdini is preferred, although experience with Maya, VRay, Arnold, or other relevant software will also be considered. A clear understanding of color space, image-based lighting, shading, scene set up, and advanced rendering methodologies is essential. You should be capable of multitasking, completing tasks within production schedules and tight deadlines in an organized manner. As a team player, you should thrive in a collaborative environment and be receptive to direction and guidance from leads and supervisors.
