Role Overview

Liferay Architect

Key Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end architecture for Liferay Portal / Liferay DXP solutions
• Define technical standards, best practices, and design guidelines
• Lead portal development, customization, and integration efforts
• Architect and develop custom portlets, themes, layouts, and hooks
• Integrate Liferay with external systems (REST/SOAP APIs, SSO, LDAP, databases)
• Ensure performance optimization, security, and scalability
• Review code and provide technical guidance to development teams
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Support deployment, upgrades, and production issues
• Mentor developers and conduct technical knowledge sharing
  

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience with

  Liferay Portal / Liferay DXP (7.x preferred)

• Expertise in

  Java, J2EE, OSGi, Spring, MVC frameworks

• Hands-on experience with

  portlets, themes, fragments, workflows

• Strong knowledge of

  REST APIs, JSON, SOAP, web services

• Experience with

  authentication & security

  (SSO, OAuth, LDAP, SAML)
• Database experience with

  Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server

• Experience with

  CI/CD, Git, Maven/Gradle

• Understanding of

  cloud deployments

  (AWS/Azure) is a plus
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  

Nice to Have

• Liferay certification (Developer / Architect)
• Experience with

  Headless Liferay

• Experience in microservices architecture
• Exposure to Docker/Kubernetes
  

Education

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
