Your responsibilities include understanding underwriting policies, guidelines, and procedures, assessing risks based on various criteria such as medical history, occupational hazards, and financial backgrounds, and effectively communicating underwriting decisions both in writing and verbally. Your ability to drive process improvements, gather relevant information efficiently, and work independently on assigned tasks will be essential to your success in this role. Key Responsibilities: - Understand underwriting policies, guidelines, and procedures - Assess risks based on various criteria such as medical history, occupational hazards, and financial backgrounds - Communicate underwriting decisions effectively in writing and verbally - Drive process improvements while upholding mortality expectations - Gather relevant information efficiently - Work independently on assigned tasks Qualifications Required: - Possess a 4-year degree - Comprehensive knowledge of risk selection across medical, non-medical, and financial aspects - Ability to think critically and solve problems autonomously - Positive, inclusive, and collaborative mindset - Strong communication skills - Experience in term and permanent life insurance underwriting - Progress toward or completion of industry designations (e.g., LOMA, ALMI, FMLI, ALU, FALU) Even if you do not meet every qualification listed, we encourage you to apply if you are enthusiastic about this opportunity.
