Librarian

Role and Responsibilities:

1. Library Management

Organize, maintain, and update the librarys collection of books, periodicals, and digital resources.

Catalog and classify library materials for easy access.

Develop and enforce library rules and procedures.

Manage library budget and procure books, journals, and digital subscriptions.

2. Support Teaching and Learning

Assist teachers in selecting books and resources to support lesson plans.

Create resource lists and reading materials based on curriculum needs.

Plan and conduct library periods and reading programs for students.

Promote information literacy and teach students how to find, evaluate, and use resources effectively.

3. Encourage Reading Habits

Organize book fairs, reading challenges, and storytelling sessions.

Guide students in choosing books suitable for their age and reading level.

Create engaging library displays and thematic sections to promote reading.

4. Administrative Duties

Keep accurate records of library inventory, issue/return of books, and overdue items.

Prepare reports on library usage and activities for school management

Skills Required

Good organizational and cataloging skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of library management systems (LMS).

Passion for books and motivating students to read.

Ability to stay updated with educational trends and digital resources.
