Lead UI Artist

As a Lead UI Artist at Lightfury Games, your role is crucial in defining and driving the user interface vision for the upcoming AAA title. You will be responsible for crafting beautiful, intuitive, and responsive UI systems that enhance the player experience. Additionally, as a team leader, you will guide and mentor other UI artists while collaborating closely with UX, engineering, and game design teams to bring your ideas to life using Unreal Engine. Key Responsibilities: - Creative Direction & Execution: - Own the visual language of all in-game UI elements, ensuring style consistency across platforms and screens. - Team Leadership: - Lead and mentor the UI art team, establish clear quality benchmarks, and provide feedback to support growth and creative alignment. - UI Design & Asset Creation: - Develop high-quality UI assets such as layouts, buttons, icons, and motion graphics using tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects. - Implementation & Integration: - Collaborate with engineers and tech artists to integrate UI into Unreal Engine through UMG and Blueprint workflows, ensuring optimized functionality across devices. - Cross-team Collaboration: - Partner with UX designers, gameplay designers, and engineers to prototype, iterate, and refine interfaces that are both functional and visually appealing. Qualifications: - Experience: - 5+ years of experience in UI/UX or UI art roles within the game industry. - Shipped at least one title, preferably AAA. - Previous experience in leading or mentoring artists. - Design Tools Expertise: - Mastery of Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, and After Effects. - Strong grasp of typography, composition, iconography, and color theory. - Basic skills in motion design and UI animation. - Technical Proficiency: - Familiarity with UI systems in Unreal Engine (UMG, Blueprints). - Understanding of real-time implementation constraints and optimization techniques. - Collaboration & Communication: - Ability to effectively present ideas, receive constructive feedback, and collaborate with tech and design teams.
