As the Lead UI Artist at Lightfury Games, you will play a pivotal role in defining and driving the user interface vision for our next-generation AAA title. Your primary responsibility will be to craft visually appealing, intuitive, and responsive UI systems that enhance the overall player experience. In addition to your creative tasks, you will also lead and mentor a team of UI artists, ensuring quality benchmarks are met and fostering growth and alignment within the team. Collaboration with UX, engineering, and game design teams is essential to bring your ideas to life within Unreal Engine. Your role will involve owning the visual language of all in-game UI elements, including HUDs, menus, icons, and feedback systems, while maintaining style consistency across different platforms and screens. You will be creating high-quality UI assets such as layouts, buttons, icons, and motion graphics using tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects. Working closely with engineers and tech artists, you will integrate UI elements into Unreal Engine using UMG and Blueprint workflows, ensuring optimization and functionality across various devices. Qualifications for this position include a minimum of 5 years of experience in UI/UX or UI art roles within the game industry, with at least one shipped title, preferably AAA. Previous experience in leading or mentoring artists is highly desirable. Proficiency in design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, and After Effects is necessary, along with a strong understanding of typography, composition, iconography, and color theory. Basic motion design and UI animation skills are also required. Technical proficiency in UI systems within Unreal Engine, including UMG and Blueprints, is expected, along with knowledge of real-time implementation constraints and optimization techniques. Effective collaboration and communication skills are essential for presenting ideas clearly, receiving feedback constructively, and working seamlessly with cross-functional tech and design teams. If you have prior experience in AAA games, a good grasp of platform-specific UI requirements (console, PC, mobile), and an interest in usability testing, accessibility, and data-driven UI decisions, you will earn bonus points for this role.
