Lead Tech AI/ML Engineer, Enterprise AI Suite (Data Engineering)

As a Data Engineer or ML Engineer at UBS, you will play a crucial role in driving the delivery of an innovative ecosystem of tools and services to support the bank's global AI Strategy. Your main responsibilities will include: - Leading a team of Senior Engineers in the country - Interacting directly with product owners and internal users to identify requirements, develop technical solutions, and execute projects - Developing an SDK to capture data product, dataset, and AI/ML model metadata automatically - Integrating and publishing metadata into UBS's AI Use-case inventory and data product and dataset catalog for discovery and regulatory compliance - Designing and implementing services to collect runtime evidence and operational information about data products or models and publishing them to visualization tools - Creating starters/templates to accelerate the creation of new data products by leveraging the latest tools and services - Designing and implementing data contract and access mechanisms for data consumption on a "need to know" basis You will be part of the Data Mesh & AI Tooling team within the Group Chief Technology Office at UBS. The team focuses on providing solutions to help the firm embrace Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, with a goal of accelerating the process of getting models into production while ensuring proper controls and security measures are in place. To be successful in this role, you should have: - A PHD or Masters degree in Computer Science or a related advanced quantitative discipline - 10+ years of industry experience with Python/Pandas, SQL/Spark, Azure fundamentals/Kubernetes, and Gitlab - Additional experience in data engineering frameworks, ML frameworks, and Agentic Frameworks is a plus - Experience in leading and mentoring other Senior Engineers - Ability to produce secure and clean code that is stable, scalable, operational, and well-performing - Proficiency in staying up to date with the latest IT standards and security principles in the banking systems - Capability to work independently, manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables - Eagerness to learn and adopt new technologies - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English UBS is the world's largest and only truly global wealth manager, operating through four business divisions across more than 50 countries.
