Lead Software Engineer/ SDE III

As a lead engineer at Target, you will play a crucial role in designing scalable architecture and ensuring the quality of the team's code and infrastructure standards. Your responsibilities will include: - Designing scalable architecture with the best choice of technology - Hands-on development, focusing on more complex tasks to ensure solutions are production-ready, deployable, scalable, and resilient - Planning and delivering work for the team while promoting a learning culture through mentoring and coaching - Ensuring product observability for reliability and driving monitoring work based on the organization's philosophy - Ensuring product security and fostering a security-first mindset across teams - Articulating a technical strategy, technology value, and impact on the business - Providing guidance and solutions for complex problems across teams - Cultivating a growth mindset within the team and anticipating future use cases for design decisions Qualifications Required: - Over 7+ years of experience in software design and development, with a focus on building scalable backend applications - Expertise in JVM-based technologies, specifically Java and Kotlin - Proficiency in Java/Kotlin development, designing, developing, and managing scalable microservices - Experience with JVM-based frameworks like Spring Boot or Micronaut, reactive programming, messaging systems, databases, CI/CD, unit and integration testing, cloud services, containerization, orchestration, monitoring, observability, and event-driven architecture Good to Have Skills: - Familiarity with functional programming paradigms in Kotlin, experience with GraphQL APIs, legacy system modernization, security best practices, and agile methodologies.,
