Lead Software Engineer - Cloud DevOps

As an experienced Database Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a crucial role in understanding and modernizing the firm's database infrastructure environment. Your key responsibilities will include: - Understanding the firm's database infrastructure environment and technology modernization pathway. - Assisting application teams in migrating to the latest database products and versions on private or public cloud platforms. - Designing and implementing automated CI/CD pipelines for database provisioning and deployment using Terraform. - Developing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) modules for database resources, networking, and monitoring integrations. - Maximizing the performance and resiliency of application workloads and optimizing database performance, capacity, and scalability. - Implementing network monitoring solutions to track database connectivity, latency, and throughput across hybrid cloud environments. - Troubleshooting and resolving database issues, including query tuning, indexing, and deadlock resolution. - Collaborating with developers to refine database schemas, optimize queries, and improve application performance. - Ensuring 24/7 availability and reliability for mission-critical systems through proactive monitoring and maintenance. - Participating in cloud database administration on AWS (RDS, EC2) and Google SQL Database. - Integrating cloud-native monitoring and alerting solutions for proactive issue detection and resolution. To excel in this role, you are required to meet the following qualifications, capabilities, and skills: - Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with a minimum of 5 years of applied experience. - Proven expertise in database administration, migration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. - Hands-on experience with cloud database platforms such as AWS RDS and Google Database. - Proficiency in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines for database deployment using Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles. - Familiarity with database networking, monitoring tools, and proactive alerting solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor). - Understanding of database performance optimization, capacity planning, and scalability strategies. - Proficient in query tuning, indexing, deadlock resolution, and schema design. - Knowledge of disaster recovery planning, backup/restore automation, and high-availability architectures. - Ability to collaborate effectively with application developers and cross-functional teams to optimize database and application performance. - Strong documentation skills for maintaining database configurations, operational procedures, and deployment processes. - Experience with security patching, compliance checks, and cloud governance best practices.,
