The Lead R&D Technician position within UOP's R&D Catalysis Fundamentals and Applications Research Group in Des Plaines, IL offers a great career opportunity to contribute to catalyst development projects. As a Lead R&D Technician, you will be involved in extrusions for catalyst development projects, preparing finished catalyst materials, and collaborating with various R&D departments to expedite catalyst discovery efforts. As a Lead R&D Technician, you will have the opportunity to: - Conduct extrusions of catalysts on new prototype materials - Support metals finishing on catalyst at a laboratory bench scale - Prepare and submit samples for various analytical and chemical analyses - Maintain laboratory equipment and inventory, and coordinate with vendors for service requests - Engage with customers to provide updates and educate them - Enhance catalyst data storage through digitization initiatives - Participate in departmental safety activities and ensure work is carried out with a strong focus on safety Qualifications required for this role include: - High School Diploma or GED - 7+ years of hands-on experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, or pilot plant environment Desired qualifications: - Experience with extruding and forming catalyst materials - Proficiency in operating and maintaining large equipment - Strong analytical skills with attention to detail - Willingness to learn new skills and enhance established processes - Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols - Effective communication and teamwork abilities - Sense of urgency and commitment to achieving results Honeywell's diverse portfolio addresses complex challenges in automation, aviation's future, and energy transition.
