Job Description

Role Overview: As a Data Visualization Lead at UST, you will be responsible for leveraging your strong front-end development experience in data visualization to create intuitive and accessible visualizations for various devices. You will lead a small development team, guiding them in project delivery and mentoring them to ensure high-quality code. Your proficiency in React.js, Deck.gl, and other rendering technologies will be crucial in working with large-scale datasets and geospatial data. Strong collaboration and communication skills will also be essential as you collaborate with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities: - Utilize your advanced knowledge of JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and rendering technologies to create responsive and visually appealing data visualizations - Work with large-scale datasets, geospatial data, and coordinate systems to develop meaningful visualizations - Lead a small development team by providing mentorship, conducting code reviews, and ensuring project delivery - Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals - Create intuitive and accessible data visualizations for a variety of devices - Stay updated on the latest design systems and tools like Figma or Storybook to enhance visualization development - Utilize state management libraries like Redux or Zustand for efficient data handling - Optimize performance of data visualizations using modern build tools like Vite or Webpack Qualifications Required: - Strong front-end development experience with a focus on data visualization for at least 2 years - Proficiency in React.js, Deck.gl, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML/CSS, and rendering technologies such as WebGL and Canvas - Hands-on experience with large-scale datasets, geospatial data, and data manipulation libraries like D3.js and RESTful APIs - Proven leadership skills in guiding small development teams, conducting code reviews, and mentoring team members - Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams - Familiarity with design systems and tools like Figma or Storybook is a plus - Background in GIS or experience with urban data would be beneficial - Knowledge of state management libraries like Redux or Zustand is an advantage - Experience with modern build tools and performance profiling tools is desirable - Prior experience working in fast-paced Agile environments would be beneficial.,
