Job Description

Role & responsibilities

To lead the civil and structural design activities for thermal power plant projects (conventional and supercritical) ensuring technical soundness, compliance with standards, schedule adherence, and coordination across disciplines.

Lead the civil & structural design of thermal power plant facilities including turbine buildings, boiler foundations, pipe racks, cooling towers, pump houses, chimneys, and other balance-of-plant (BOP) structures.
Review and finalize design basis reports, general arrangement drawings, design calculations, and structural analysis models.
Perform design checks and provide value engineering inputs to optimize material, cost, and constructability.
Ensure designs comply with relevant codes (IS, ACI, AISC, Eurocode, etc.) and project specifications.
Oversee preparation of design deliverables such as layout drawings, foundation drawings, and bar bending schedules.

Preferred candidate profile

Strong technical expertise in civil/structural design of thermal power plant components.
Proficiency in design and analysis software such as STAAD.Pro, ETABS, RCDC, AutoCAD, and Revit.
Familiarity with geotechnical investigations, foundation design, and soil-structure interaction concepts.
Strong understanding of construction methods, detailing standards, and materials used in power projects.
Effective project coordination, leadership, and communication skills.
