Lead Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a Lead Engineer who will play a key role in designing, building, and scaling Fold Healths healthcare platform. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technologist with strong leadership skills, capable of guiding engineering teams, setting best practices, and driving the delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  
• 1015 years of hands-on engineering experience, with at least 3+ years in a lead/architect role.
  
• Strong expertise in Node.js (NestJS), ReactJS, React Native, Python (preferred), and TypeScript.
  
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
  
• Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL, data pipelines, and healthcare data (EHR, claims, ADT, FHIR standards).
  
• Familiarity with AI/ML integration and building data-driven applications.
  
• Experience with HIPAA, security best practices, and compliance in healthcare systems.
  
• Strong problem-solving, system design, and communication skills.
  
• Proven track record of mentoring teams and delivering complex products in a startup or fast-paced environment.
  

Good to Have

• Experience with healthcare integrations (Elation, Athena, eCW, HIE, claims pipelines).
  
• Familiarity with Twilio Programable SMS and Voice calls, Mailgun - emails, wearable data APIs.
  
• Exposure to BI/reporting tools (PowerBI, BigQuery).
  
• Prior experience in Value-Based Care (VBC) programs or healthcare startups.
