LEAD DESIGN ENGINEER

Role Overview: You will be responsible for leading the design engineering activities related to valves in turbine engineering, specifically focusing on butterfly & spherical valves for pump storage projects, large hydro conventional projects, and large refurbishment projects. Your role will involve executing basic and detailed designs, collaborating with technical experts, and ensuring continuous improvement of products and processes. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct basic and detailed design of valve assemblies and components - Prepare layouts, drawings, Bills of Materials (BoMs), purchase specifications, calculations, and analysis - Drive continuous improvement in products and processes to achieve optimization - Provide technical troubleshooting support at shop and site locations - Handle customer queries and approvals for both Indian and International projects - Collaborate on design reviews with technical experts from the parent company in Europe Qualification Requirements: - Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputable institute - Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical design of hydro valves using 3D CAD software (preferably NX and TeamCenter) - Sound knowledge of mechanical engineering design concepts, materials, and manufacturing processes - Experience in technical troubleshooting and proactive problem-solving - Proficiency in English and Hindi languages - Familiarity with hydro valves design & engineering throughout the product life cycle - Willingness to travel as required Additional Details: Working as a Lead Design Engineer in the turbine engineering team will provide exposure not only to valve design but also to various aspects of hydro-power plant machinery. This includes turbines, generators, governors, excitation systems, protection and control systems, mechanical balance of plant, electrical power systems, penstocks, and gates. You will also gain knowledge of manufacturing processes such as welding, machining, coating, casting, and forging, along with a variety of materials used in valve construction. Your role will involve interacting with external agencies, managing technical projects, and resources effectively. International exposure is a key aspect of this role, involving customer interactions for projects located globally and potential on-the-job work or reviews at the parent company location in Europe. Additionally, you will have access to a vast database of engineering guidelines, procedures, design instructions, and international & national standards to support your work.,
