Job Description

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer (Lead Data Engineer).

In this role, you will:

Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

5+ Years of experience in Data Engineering.
5+ years of overall experience of software development.
5+ years of Python development experience must include 3+ years in Spark framework.
5+ years of Oracle or SQL Server experience in designing, coding and delivering database applications
Expert knowledge and considerable development experience with at least two or more of the following : Kafka ,ETL, Big Data, NoSql database, S3 or other object store .
Strong understanding of data flows design and how to implement your designs in python
Experience in writing and debugging complex PL/SQL or TSQL Stored Procedures
Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills
Analyze a feature story and design a robust solution for it and create specs for complex business rules and calculations
Ability to understand business problems and articulate a corresponding solution
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Job Expectations:

Strong knowledge and understanding of Dremio framework
Database query design and optimization
Strong experience using the development ecosystem of applications (JIRA, ALM, GitHub, uDeploy(Urban Code Deploy), Jenkins, Artifactory, SVN, etc)
Knowledge and understanding of multiple source code version control systems in working with branches, tags and labels
