Lead Data Engineer / DWH Specialist

As a Lead Data Warehouse Engineer, your role involves architecting, managing, and evolving the enterprise data warehouse to support business intelligence and analytics. Here are the key responsibilities you will handle: - Design and set up the data warehouse from scratch with a focus on scalability, reliability, and alignment with business goals. - Lead the design of dimensional models and enforce data governance standards for maintaining a single version of truth. - Oversee the development and optimization of ETL pipelines using SSIS, Python, and cloud-native tools for efficient data ingestion from various systems. - Monitor and optimize database performance, indexing strategies, and query execution plans to ensure optimal system responsiveness. - Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver actionable insights. - Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and manage project timelines and deliverables within the data engineering team. - Maintain comprehensive documentation for data flows, integration logic, and system configurations while ensuring compliance with internal and external data standards. Qualifications Required: Must have - Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. - 12+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server. - Expertise in building Data Warehouse using SQL Server. - Hands-on experience Dimensional Modeling using Facts and Dimensions. - Experience with cloud-based SQL databases like Azure SQL or Azure Synapse. - Expertise in SSIS and Python for ETL development. - Familiarity with Azure Data Factory. - Strong experience in Power BI for reporting and data visualization. - Strong understanding of relational database design, indexing, and performance tuning. - Ability to write complex SQL scripts, stored procedures and views. - Experience with Git and JIRA. - Problem-solving mindset and analytical skills. - Excellent communication and documentation abilities. Nice to Have - Experience with Microsoft Fabric. - Experience with Azure Databricks. - Familiarity with CI/CD for database deployments and automation tools. - Knowledge of big data technologies like Snowflake.,
