Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities of Unix Tower SME would include As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Linux Administrator, you will be responsible for overseeing the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Linux-based systems Individual Contributor to resolve complex issues . Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement performance tuning measures. Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to protect Linux environments. Conduct root cause analysis and provide solutions for complex system problems. Monitor and address potential security vulnerabilities and threats. Develop and maintain automation scripts for system administration tasks using tools such as Bash, Python or perl . Implement configuration management solutions like Ansible and Puppet. Be part of Disaster Recovery procedures. Drive Service Improvement Programs. Ensure adherence to quality / security standards defined for the engagement Perform Trend analysis, identify top few incidents and work with respective teams/individual to minimize the incidents. Effort estimation/reviews on need basis for new projects. Mentoring and guiding Team members . Mandatory Skillset Installation and configuration of Red hat/Ubuntu/Centos linux servers . Maintenance and troubleshooting of Solaris/Linux/Ubuntu/Centos servers . Patching of Linux servers and Vulnerability Remediation. Maintenance of Servers on AWS/VMWare Cloud . Knowledge on VMWare , LDAP Authentication, Samba Knowledge of VCS, VXVM . Knowledge of Ansible Puppet . Knowledge on one scripting language python, perl or Shell.
