Lathe Machine Operator

Role Overview: As a lathe operator or machinist, your role will involve operating lathes and other machining equipment to produce precision parts. You will be responsible for reading technical drawings and blueprints, utilizing precision measuring tools, and applying your knowledge of machining principles and materials. Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to perform basic math calculations will be crucial in ensuring the quality of the finished products. Key Responsibilities: - Operate lathes and other machining equipment to fabricate parts according to specifications - Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to understand project requirements - Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers to ensure accuracy of dimensions - Apply knowledge of machining principles and materials to select appropriate cutting tools and speeds - Maintain a safe work environment by following company procedures and guidelines - Lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods of time as needed - Demonstrate good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues - Be willing to work flexible hours or shifts to meet production demands Qualifications Required: - High school diploma or equivalent - Proven experience as a lathe operator or machinist - Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints - Familiarity with precision measuring tools - Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail - Basic math and computer skills - Knowledge of machining principles and materials - Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for long periods of time (Note: The job is full-time with benefits including cell phone reimbursement.
