You will be responsible for operating and maintaining high-performance laser and wide-format printing machines. Your duties will include preparing materials, managing print jobs, performing regular machine maintenance, and ensuring print quality meets the highest standards. You will operate laser engraving and large-format printing machines such as UV, solvent, eco-solvent, or latex printers. Setting up printing files, materials, and machine parameters for each job will be part of your role. Monitoring the printing process to ensure color accuracy, alignment, and resolution is essential. You will also perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on printing equipment. Collaboration with the design team to ensure artwork is print-ready and accurately aligned will be required. Handling various substrates like vinyl, fabric, acrylic, foam board, and more is also part of your responsibilities. Inspecting finished products for quality, consistency, and completeness will be crucial. Additionally, you will maintain inventory of printing supplies and report low stock levels, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards, and keeping the work area clean and organized. To qualify for this position, you should have a high school diploma or equivalent (technical diploma preferred) and prior experience with laser machines and/or large-format printing equipment. Familiarity with RIP software (e.g., ONYX, Caldera) and design file formats (PDF, AI, CDR) is necessary. Strong attention to detail, ability to work with precision, and good communication and problem-solving skills are essential. You should also be able to lift and move printing materials and products, have flexibility to work shifts and meet tight deadlines. Preferred skills include knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, or Photoshop, experience with engraving machines or CNC routers, ability to handle urgent and bulk orders efficiently, and understanding of color management and calibration.
