Land Lead Legal (Renewable Energy/Infrastructure)

As a leading independent power producer in the renewable energy sector, we are looking for an accomplished legal professional to lead our land legal team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the legal aspects of land acquisition, due diligence, and compliance across multiple states, including Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Karnataka, to support large-scale renewable energy projects. Your key responsibilities will include supervising regional legal teams to ensure compliance with state-specific land laws, driving robust land legal frameworks for risk mitigation and transaction oversight at all project stages, overseeing due diligence, title verification, document review, and managing external legal advisors. Additionally, you will be expected to present monthly updates and legal risk assessments to senior leadership. To be considered for this role, you should have an LLB from a reputed institution, with additional qualifications such as a CS or a land law diploma being preferred. You should have at least 10-15 years of relevant experience in land legal matters within the renewable energy or infrastructure sector, a deep understanding of land due diligence, acquisition documents, and state regulatory frameworks, as well as a proven ability to lead dispersed teams and manage external counsel effectively.
