Key Responsibilities: · Prepare daily and long-term lesson plans in alignment with the prescribed curriculum and academic guidelines. · Teach the Geography curriculum effectively to senior secondary students, fostering inquiry, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of the subject. · Develop students’ interests, abilities, and coordination through a variety of creative and interactive teaching methods. · Maintain productive working habits, discipline, and a positive learning environment within the classroom. · Supervise students throughout the school day, including in classrooms, during breaks, and at school activities. · Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and training programs to stay current with educational best practices. · Assess and evaluate students’ academic progress, identifying learning outcomes and areas for improvement. · Maintain open and positive communication with students, parents, administrators, and colleagues regarding student progress and well-being. · Organize, attend, and supervise school events such as excursions, concerts, camps, and sports, encouraging maximum participation from students. · Ensure classroom bulletin boards display updated worksheets, class lists, bus and lunch lists, birthdays, timetables, and any special student information. · Appoint student captains for various disciplines and encourage students to take responsibility for maintaining classroom cleanliness and order. · Keep a copy of the class timetable, homework schedule, and assessment plan on the classroom notice board for reference, especially for substitute teachers. · In case of planned leave, prepare a detailed work plan and provide clear instructions to ensure continuity of lessons. · Stay informed on current trends and innovations in education and actively participate in workshops, seminars, and professional learning opportunities. · Collaborate with other teachers and staff to strengthen the school’s Geography program and interdisciplinary learning initiatives. · Provide academic guidance and support to students engaged in Geography-related projects and activities. · Deliver engaging lessons that promote curiosity, global awareness, and analytical thinking. · Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages respect, collaboration, and active participation. Qualifications: Academic: Post Graduate in Geography with B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant teaching experience in CBSE-affiliated schools Skills: Strong subject knowledge and understanding of Geography concepts and pedagogy. Ability to explain complex ideas clearly and effectively to students of diverse learning abilities. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
